History
Sweden has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 52 times since their debut in 1958, being absent a total of five times, in 1956, 1957, 1964, 1970 and in 1976. Since 1959, the Swedish entry has been chosen through an annual televised competition, known since 1967 as Melodifestivalen.Sweden is one of Eurovision’s most successful countries, having won the contest five times as well as having reached the top 5 a total of 19 times. They have also made it to the top ten 35 times. Sweden’s first Eurovision victory was in 1974 with the song “Waterloo”, performed by ABBA. Thanks to their victory in Brighton ABBA went on to gain worldwide success, still being one of the best-selling pop groups of all time. Since then Sweden has won in 1984, 1991, 1999 and most recently in 2012 with the song “Euphoria”, performed by Loreen. Sweden and United Kingdom are the only countries with Eurovision victories in four different decades.
From 2005 to 2010, the Swedish results were less successful. Prior to the 2010 contest Sweden was among the few countries not to have missed a Eurovision final since 1976, but this record was broken in 2010 when Anna Bergendahl failed to make it to the final in Oslo. Later it was revealed that Bergendahl had placed 11th in the semifinal, only 5 points from qualifying.
The Eurovision Song Contest has been hosted in Sweden four times, twice in Stockholm (1975 and 2000), once in Gothenburg (1985) and once in Malmö (1992). The next contest in 2013 will be held in Malmö again, but this time in the Malmö Arena.
Melodifestivalen is an annual music competition organised by Swedish public broadcasters Sveriges Television (SVT) and Sveriges Radio (SR). It determines the country’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest since 1959. It is one of Sweden’s most popular television shows, and it has been estimated that more than 4 million Swedes watch the show annually.
Almost every Swedish entry for Eurovision has been selected through Melodifestivalen. Only one entry, Sweden’s first entry in 1958, was not selected through Melodifestivalen, having been selected internally by the Swedish broadcaster at the time, Swedish Radio Service.

1958

Sweden made its Eurovision Song Contest debut in the Eurovision Song Contest 1958, held in Hilversum, The Netherlands.
Alice Babs was selected by Sveriges Radio to represent her country. The song “Lilla stjärna” was originally called “Samma stjärnor lysa för oss båda”, but was on Alice’s demand, re-written. Songwriter Åke Gerhard was not happy with this, and forbid the song to be commercially released. It took 40 years before it finally was released.
After the voting, Sweden had received 10 points and a 4th position.

lyrics
Little star
La la la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la la…
La la la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la la…

Night over countryside and town, sleeping houses
The windows glitter, because of the star light
A girl standing by the window, looking up to the blue
Just fifteen years old, but still she’s thinking

Little star up above, answer me, answer me
Is he coming, the man that I will love?
Yes, you’ll probably know who he is

Will I read in his eye, the same answer, the same answer
That I think I see you twinkling to me now
You, little star?

Is he coming? Is he coming?
Yes, you’ll probably know who he is

Will I read in his eye, the same answer, the same answer
That I think I see you twinkling to me now
You, little star?

1959

Sweden was in their second Eurovision Song Contest represented by Brita Borg with the song “Augustin”. The winning song was elected in the Swedish national final: Melodifestivalen 1959. During the semi-finals, Sveriges Radio decided that the winning song would represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 1959. The winning singer, Siw Malmkvist, had to stay home as the singer had already been selected.
Melodifestivalen 1959 was the national final for the song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 1959. It was held on 29 January 1959 and was the first time that this system of picking a song had been used. Approximately 200 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition.
Sweden only managed to get a joint 9th place (out of 11).

lyrics
Augustin
Dear child, can’t you stay at home this evening
Darkness has almost already fallen
Please mother, you know we’re going to meet tonight
You don’t want him to go by himself, do you?
If he has to wait a second for his friend
He goes straight home and never comes back

Augustin never waits for a girl who’s in love
He is young, he is the king, he’s handsome and popular
Hold my hat, where are the shoes?
Get the brooch in my jewellery box
Soon I’ll be meeting Augustin

Dear mother, please don’t stay up and wait for me
Soon I’ll be turning twenty-two
I won’t be as late as I was the night before
Oh, now I must hurry
If I run quickly, I’ll make it on time
Oh, there’s a run in my stocking, and it had to be just now

Augustin never waits for a girl who’s in love
He is young, he is the king, he’s handsome and popular
Will he now go away and whistle at Kristin instead?
Or are you waiting for me, Augustin?

With surprise and worry he waits in the moonlight
What kind of nonchalance is this?
He’s never had the intention to wait for a girl that’s late
No, he’d rather give somebody else a chance
But that’s how life is: What you don’t get
Is exactly what you want, if you understand my drift

Augustin had to wait, until he was as much in love himself
Even though he was young, even though he was a king
Even though he was handsome and popular
Yes, that’s what happens to someone who grows masculine too quickly
And Augustin will never forget
And Augustin will never forget

1960

Sweden chose its entry for Eurovision Song Contest 1960 by the national final, Melodifestivalen 1960. The winning song, “Alla andra får varann” was performed once by Östen Warnerbring and once by Ingrid Berggren. However Sveriges Radio decided that Siw Malmkvist would represent Sweden, as she had been denied that the previous year.
Melodifestivalen 1960 was the selection for the third song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the second time that this system of picking a song had been used. It was held on 2 February 1959.The final was broadcast on Sveriges Radio TV and Sveriges Radio P1 from Cirkus, Stockholm and the presenter was Jeannette von Heidenstam. Last year’s winner Siw Malmkvist was selected to sing the winning son, Alla andra får varann, at Eurovision.

lyrics
All the others get each other
Only, only you and I have to be apart every day
While all the others get each other
Why does it have to be that way
Why does it have to happen to us
When all the others get each other

If I only had the courage to propose
You would probably give me your ‘yes’
But happiness has to wait
Until I’ve picked up the courage some day

I go to weddings
But I sit and watch
How all the others get each other

Perhaps it could be arranged
And then it would all be easy
If you could propose like they used to
By correspondence

Yeah… dearest, maybe one day, maybe also you and I
Like all the others, we will have each other

1961

Sweden chose their entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 1961 through Melodifestivalen 1961. The song April, April, performed once with Siw Malmkvist, once with Gunnar Wiklund, won. However, none of them was considered acceptable for singing in ESC, so Lill-Babs was chosen as representative instead. In the contest, once more held in Cannes, she finished in 14th place (out of 16).Melodifestivalen 1961 was the Swedish national final and it was the third time that this system of picking a song had been used. One singer performed the song with a large orchestra and one with a smaller orchestra.
Sweden only managed to get 14th place (out of 16).

lyrics
April, april
All the lively, happy birds are singing chirp, chirp, chirp
All the west winds happily play catch
All the anemones paint the meadows in white, white, white
All the girls are trying out their new hats
All the boys are happy that the woolen socks
Are changed to light nylon by the girls

April, it doesn’t matter if the winter’s been hard
April, when you can let your blonde hair down now

Spring is here again and I’m in love again
Spring, that’s how it is
That’s what I’ve been waiting for

April, infects me with the love bug
April, I can make you an April’s Fool

Du du du du du du du du…
Du du du du du du du du…

Spring is here again and I’m in love again
Spring, that’s how it is
That’s what I’ve been waiting for

April, it doesn’t matter if the winter’s been hard
April, when you can let your blonde hair down now

April, infects me with the love bug
April, I can make you an April’s Fool

Tra la la la la la la la… mmm…

1962

Sweden was represented by Inger Berggren, singing Sol och vår, in the Eurovision Song Contest 1962. She was selected by a national final called Eurovisionsschlagern, svensk final. Another singer, Lily Berglund. The song was written and composed by Ulf Källkvist and Åke Gerhard.
In ESC, held in Luxembourg, she came 6th out of 16.

lyrics
Sun and spring
A jeweller and his shop
Is the reason why everything is so gloomy
One day I was standing in front of his window
When someone suddenly said ‘good day’

It was a happy young man with a charming smile
Who asked me to come in to give my advice
He was looking for something to give to his fiancée
And I was nice enough and joined him

When it’s sun and spring and you’re nineteen years old
You understand so little
And all the little girls should be locked up then
When winter turns to sun and spring

Once in the shop he couldn’t find anything
And soon we were outside again
I said ‘goodbye’ and had begun walking
When he yelled: “Wait, listen”

As a proof of his gratitude
He wanted to buy me lunch somewhere
It was the first sunny day of spring
So I was stupid enough to say yes

When it’s sun and spring and you’re nineteen years old
You understand so little
And all the little girls should be locked up then
When winter turns to sun and spring

He conversed with elegance
And bought me the best meal the place had to offer
But then he went to call a friend
And didn’t come back

And the man working in the cloakroom said:
“Yes, your husband took your fur coat
And went to the tailor”
So I had to call my own Knut
who came and bailed me out

When it’s sun and spring and you’re nineteen years old
You understand so little
And all the little girls should be locked up then
When winter turns to sun and spring

1963

In the Eurovision Song Contest 1963, Sweden was represented by Monica Zetterlund, who later became the most popular jazz singer in Sweden. Her song, written by Bobbie Ericsson and Beppe Wolgers, was called En gång i Stockholm (Once in Stockholm). Carli Thornehave also sung it at the national final.
They scored for the first (and by so far only) time the infamous nul points, among with their neighbours Finland and Norway, and also Netherlands.

lyrics
Once upon a time in Stockholm
Come with me, said my friend
Now the first silent winter snow falls
And summer is over
I have a sailing boat in Lake Klara
Come my friend, my boat is as white as snow
Yes, come, let’s go sailing

Come my friend, come aboard
There you can see the Riddarfjärd covered in white snow
Out boat sails in snow
Yes, the Stockholm winter is a peculiar world
Seagulls, in silent and beautiful snow
And beautiful is the island of Stockholm

The bells of The German Church, silently call ‘ding dong’
A fairytale shore, a fairytale land
That meets the two of us in our boat

Hold my hand, hold my hand
For you and me it’s still summer
Come sailing with me
Where you and I are, there is summer
Summer, it never ends
Because I, I love you

Hold my hand, hold my hand

1965

After a year of absence, Sweden competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 with the opera singer Ingvar Wixell, and the song Absent Friend composed by Dag Wirén.
For the first time, one singer sang all the songs in the national final, and Ingvar was also the first male singer to represent Sweden. It was the first ESC entry that was not performed in the country’s native language; this led to the introduction of the language rule the following year. The contest was held in Naples that year, and Sweden finished 10th out of 18.

lyrics
Absent friends
A night of spring is a lovely thing
But I feel sad in this night of spring
For this is the time the sloe gets bright
And this is a most bewitching night
And I am lonely and you are far
And you can’t hear what I sing

I wish I knew where you are tonight
I wish you’re thinking of me tonight
Where are you tonight?
I wish you feel how I long for you
And I wish you’re missing me too
And I wish I knew where to go
Knowing you
Knowing you

We ought to walk where the cowslips grow
Behind the hedge ???
And you ought to smile and look at me
And I ought to kiss you tenderly
But I don’t know if you ???
This lovely evening of spring

I wish I knew where you are tonight
I wish you’re thinking of me tonight
Where are you tonight?

I wish you feel how I long for you
And I wish you’re missing me too
And I wish I knew where to go
Knowing you
Knowing you

Tonight

1966

Sweden competed in Eurovision Song Contest 1966 with the song “Nygammal vals” performed by Lill Lindfors and Svante Thuresson. It was written by Bengt-Arne Wallin and Björn Lindroth. Much thanks to Scandinavian neighbours, Sweden took their best placement so far in ESC this year, held in Luxembourg, with 16 points and a 2nd place.

lyrics
New-Old Waltz (Hip pig breeder)
Once upon a time there was
A pig breeder, a really cool man
And a princess, a proud maiden she was
One day they met and he stepped up to her and said:

Gosh almighty, you seem to be a cool lady
Look at that dress, really happening
Is there a fancy dress party or something?
Get lost, you’re such a peasant
I’m a princess, rather prudish
My name is Cunigunda, the king’s sweetheart
Hey, take it easy, chill out
Listen to me drumming on my saucepan

Dig dig pop…

Oops, such a groovy tune you drummed just there
If you teach me how to drum you can kiss me
Every girl has a mouth, what about a coin instead?
I drink from the brook, I eat soil
If you have a coin in your pocket you’re better off
You’re such a cheeky devil, you won’t get any gold
But I want to drum on your saucepan

Dig dig pop…

Bang, gosh, the girl’s in a hurry
What’s so special about it? There are lots of saucepans
That saucepan sounds groovy, a cool sound, a nice ring to it
Let’s make a deal, take it or leave it
I’ll be a hip pig breeder, and you can be the king’s sweetheart
Me as a princess? Sure, I’m hip
Then take my drum, take my saucepan

He, as a princess, a hip man wearing clip-on ties
Was thrown out of the castle by the guards
She, as a pig breeder, a prudish chick wearing a tie
Drove everybody mad, playing her saucepan
Trading your saucepan turned out to be a really bad idea

1967

The Swedish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1967 was Östen Warnerbring and the song “Som en dröm”, composed by Curt Pettersson and Marcus Österdal and written by Patrice Hellberg. The national selection was for the first time called “Melodifestivalen”, a name that remains to this day. The entry finished 8th out of 17.

lyrics
Like a dream
Like a dream of paradise
In a dream and through the mist of tears
I’ve searched for an answer

Like a dream through the lights of the night
I felt, like the gentle sound of wings
Your hand against my cheek

You and I, we search the same answers
So hesitantly without knowing where to look
Give me your hand, and our dream will come true
Give me your hand

Like a dream is my life with you
In my dream, you are everything to me
And the answers of my dreams

In my dream of eternity
I have now found a reality
Yes, you are the answer to my dreams

You and I, we search the same answers
So hesitantly without knowing where to look
Give me your hand, and our dream will come true
Give me your hand

1968

In the Eurovision Song Contest 1968, Sweden was represented by Claes-Göran Hederström with the song Det börjar verka kärlek, banne mig, made by Peter Himmelstrand. It finished 5th (out of 17) with 15 points, including 6 from Norway, the highest number of votes awarded that year.

lyrics
It’s Beginning To Look Like Love, Damn It
The day before yesterday I suddenly turned down the guys
When they invited me to a party
And then I spent a whole evening conversing
With your mother, being polite

It’s beginning to look like love, damn it
The kind of thing you see in the movies, imagine that
I guess I’m suspicious, but the thought crops up
But by all means, I could be wrong

Last night I went with you and watched a tearjerker
Although I wanted to watch ‘bang-bang’
And then I sat listening to a string quartet
Me, I only used to like ‘twang-twang’

It’s beginning to look like love, damn it
The kind of thing you read about in books, imagine that
I don’t understand it, I guess I’m a little stupid
But by all means, I could be wrong

This morning I sang as I brushed my teeth
And then I began working like crazy
And then I called you about nothing at all
Just because I suddenly felt like it

It’s beginning to look like love, damn it
The kind of thing that happens to others, imagine that
It all indicates, that I’m in love and all that
But by all means, I could be wrong

It’s beginning to look like love, damn it
The kind of thing that happens to others, imagine that
It all indicates, that I’m in love and all that
But by all means, I could be wrong
I could be wrong

1969

Sweden chose their entrant for Eurovision Song Contest 1969 in the show “Melodifestivalen 1969”. A tie occurred between two songs, but after additional voting, the song Judy, min vän with Tommy Körberg was selected. It was written by Roger Wallis and Britt Lindeborg. The other song, Hej clown was written by Lasse Berghagen and later ABBA member Benny Andersson.
At ESC, held in Madrid, Tommy finished 9th out of 16. Most points came from Sweden’s neighbours, Norway and Finland. Sharing the 9th place was Germany, represented by the Swedish singer Siw Malmkvist, who had also represented Sweden in 1960. She did, however, not get any points from Sweden.

lyrics
Judy, my friend
Judy, my friend, you seem so thoughtful, why, Judy, my friend?
Judy, my friend, you are silent and sad, why, Judy, my friend?
Are you beginning to realize that you and I
May never be happy together, Judy, my friend?

Judy, my friend, you love things, house, TV and wine
Your path is surrounded by luxury and gadgets, that’s not my style
Our lifestyles are different, let me put it this way:
I can never be the man that you need, Judy, my friend

What am I like? Let me explain
I live for the moment, I’m just a dreamer
That’s my philosophy
I want to feel: I’m free

Judy, my friend, your dreams of money seem small and narrow
My dream is a dream of green meadows, the wind, embraces and a song

Maybe I’ll change, then I’ll get in touch
Then I’ll introduce myself as your Mister Average

Judy, my friend, here we go our own ways, maybe we’ll meet again
Then we’ll see what life has done to us, Judy, my friend

What am I like? Let me explain
I live for the moment, I’m just a dreamer
That’s my philosophy
I want to feel: I’m free

Judy, my friend, here we go our own ways, maybe we’ll meet again
Then we’ll see what life has done to us, Judy, my friend
Judy, my friend, Judy, my friend

1970

Sweden did not compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 1970, as a protest against that four countries shared the victory the preceding year. They were, however, back for the 1971 contest. Five semi-finals, with the same three competitors in all of them, were held in the popular TV show Hylands hörna. The group Family Four won all of the semi-finals, and therefore sung all the songs in the final. The song Vita vidder, written and composed by Håkan Elmquist, won and represented Sweden at ESC, held in Dublin.
Family Four finished 6th out of 18.

lyrics
White expanses
Sunny beaches, green swaying palms
Mediterranean countries, dark nights, warm, nice
That’s where you want to love, I have another paradise

White expanses, sparkling frozen crust
Mountains with snow as far as you can see
Deep forests, grouse and hare
Eternal sun that never goes down
Here is my world and I want to share it with you
If you want to be by my side, you want to be by my side

As long as we understand each other, then the world is ours
Sun over a beach or sun over a snowy white winter landscape

Warm winds make little waves in the sand
Mediterranean winds bring our boat to the shore
That’s how you want to live, I have another paradise

Snow that whirls around my skis
Down steep dizzy slopes
Gliding down the sides of the mountain edge
Alone between heaven and abyss
That’s my world and I want to share it with you
If you want to be by my side, you want to be by my side

As long as we understand each other, then the the world is ours

1972

For the Eurovision Song Contest 1972, Sweden chose their entrant in a national selection called Melodifestivalen 1972. About 1,000 entries were submitted, and Sveriges Radio picked 10 of them for the final. Family Four, last year’s representant, won, again with a song written by Håkan Almquist. It was called Härliga sommardag, meaning Wonderful summer day.
At ESC, they finished 13th (out of 18).

lyrics
Lovely summer’s day
The morning sun glitters in the bay
The day dawns, and for the last time the Hanö lighthouse flashes
Can you see our sailing boat, can you hear the music
As we steer towards a new adventure

Hum a song, sing a melody
Hum a tune that reminds you of summer
Feel the scent of the salty seas
As we’re humming a song, singing a melody
Humming a tune that reminds you of summer
Sing about a lovely summer’s day

Wind from the east, steaming waves and whitecaps
Filling sails that flap as we go towards our island

In a bay we cast anchor
Have a dip, have a good time on a flat rock, warmed by the sun
Before we walk home at an easy pace
On the island on a nice summer’s night

Hum a song, sing a melody
Hum a tune that reminds you of summer
Feel the scent of the salty seas
As we’re humming a song, singing a melody
Humming a tune that reminds you of summer
Sing about a lovely summer, summer

La la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la la la…
La la la la la la la la la la…
La la la la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la la la…

Sing about a lovely summer
Lovely day, lovely summer’s day

1973

Sweden chose their entry for Eurovision Song Contest 1973 in a national final called Melodifestivalen 1973. One of the competitors was a group of those who would later be the members of ABBA, but they only finished 3rd. Instead, the winner was the song Sommaren som aldrig säger nej (The summer which never says no) with the group Malta. They had, to avoid confusion, change their name to “Nova and The Dolls”. The song was translated into English and got the name You’re Summer.
The contest was held in Luxembourg and Sweden was drawn into spot 12. They finished 5th (out of 17).

lyrics
You are summer – you never tell me no
Monday morning – the streets are black with rain
Under a skylight hovers sad and grey
Tuesday waits down the endless dreary lane
And every day is like the other day

I want you and I long for your carress
Oh… your breasts are like swallows in nestling
You’re the summer, life grows in you, summer wind blows in you
Summer rains flow in you, summer sings low in you
You are summer, you never tell me no
Summer, life grows in you, summer wind blows in you
Summer, you never tell me no

Times are stale and the days are long and slow
There is no song can make me laugh and sing
Half past four, I pack up and home I go
Home to the bored and fear the evenings bring

I want you and I long for your carress
Oh… your breasts are like swallows in nestling
You’re the summer, life grows in you, summer wind blows in you
Summer rains flow in you, summer sings low in you
You are summer, you never tell me no
Summer, life grows in you, summer wind blows in you
Summer, you never tell me no

I want you and I long for your carress
Oh… your breasts are like swallows in nestling
You’re the summer, life grows in you, summer wind blows in you
Summer rains flow in you, summer sings low in you
You are summer, you never tell me no

You are summer, you never tell me no

1974

The Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest was called Melodifestivalen 1974. It was, by far, won by the group ABBA, consisting of Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. Their song was called Waterloo, which was written by Björn and Benny. It was originally written in Swedish, but for the ESC final, it was translated into English, which the rules allowed the years 1973-1976.
ABBA was one of the favorites to win ESC, held in Brighton, United Kingdom. They sung as #08. In the voting, they received high points from the first jury to vote (Finland), but it was a close race until the second last jury, Switzerland, which gave Sweden enough points to practically secure victory. Sweden got a total of 24 points, compared to runner-up Italy’s 18. This was Sweden’s first victory, and ABBA got international superstar status, with a success second only to The Beatles. They have sold a reported 370 million records worldwide. In 2005, the 50th anniversary show Congratulations, Waterloo was chosen the best Eurovision song ever.

lyrics
Waterloo
My my, at Waterloo Napoleon did surrender
Oh yeah, and I have met my destiny in quite a similar way
The history book on the shelf is always repeating itself

Waterloo – I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo – Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo – Couldn’t escape if I wanted to
Waterloo – Knowing my fate is to be with you
Whoa… Waterloo – Finally facing my Waterloo

My my, I tried to hold you back but you were stronger
Oh yeah, and now it seems my only chance is giving up the fight
And how could I ever refuse – I feel like I win when I lose

Waterloo – I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo – Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo – Couldn’t escape if I wanted to
Waterloo – Knowing my fate is to be with you
Whoa… Waterloo – Finally facing my Waterloo

So how could I ever refuse – I feel like I win when I lose

Waterloo – Couldn’t escape if I wanted to
Waterloo – Knowing my fate is to be with you
Whoa… Waterloo – Finally facing my Waterloo
Oo… Waterloo – Knowing my fate is to be with you
Whoa… Waterloo – Finally facing my Waterloo
Oo… Waterloo – Knowing my fate is to be with you
Whoa…

1975

Thanks to ABBA’s victory the preceding year, Sweden hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 1975. Their entry was chosen in Melodifestivalen 1975, and the winner was last year’s runner up, Lasse Berghagen with the song Jennie, Jennie, which he had written and composed himself.
This year, the current voting system was for the first time in use. He did not receive any 12’s, but finished 8th (out of 19) with 72 points.

lyrics
Jennie, Jennie
I know that tonight you’re alone in your room with a note in your hand
In your dreams you’re regretting, but never forgetting
That often, you doubt where you stand

Your phonograph spins out a tune, you see pictures in your memory
I know that you’re crying, but there’s no denying
That time has a different melody

Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – can’t you see the world is yours?
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – life has still so much in store to give you
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – you must change your tune somehow
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – live your life and live it now

You long for the world that you loved and you want to be there once again
But your diary’s confessions are like signs that the ocean
Erased forever from the sand

Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – can’t you see the world is yours?
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – life has still so much in store to give you
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – you must change your tune somehow
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – live your life and live it now

Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – can’t you see the world is yours?
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – life has still so much in store to give you
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – you must change your tune somehow
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – live your life and live it now

Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – can’t you see the world is yours?
Jennie, Jennie, Jennie, Jennie – life has still so much in store to give you

Sweden selected their entry for ESC 1977 in the show “Melodifestivalen 1977”. Winner was the song Beatles with a group called Forbes. It was a tribute to the rock band The Beatles, who had split up some years earlier, and was written by Sven-Olof Bagge and Claes Bure.
The voting went on to be a disaster. Sweden received 2 points from Germany and nothing else, giving them their first last place since 1963.

lyrics
The Beatles
The Beatles gave us their music, ‘Yesterday’, how nice it was
Everybody loved the melody, yeah yeah yeah…

When records were released there was a commotion
The gramophone played non-stop
Everybody fell for the charm of the Beatles, yeah yeah yeah…

A lot of people went around humming
‘A Hard Day’s Night’, although they were small
Your great grandfather can tell you who they were
The Beatles, The Beatles

The world was a big stage, and there we stood in rows
Enjoying every nice ballad, yeah yeah yeah…

The Beatles gave us their music, girls were screaming and shouting
We still have all the records, we shall remember Ringo Starr
And George and Paul and John

Your great grandfather can tell you who they were
The Beatles, The Beatles

The world was a big stage, and there we stood in rows
Enjoying every nice ballad, yeah yeah yeah…

The Beatles gave us their music, girls were screaming and shouting
We still have all the records, we shall remember Ringo Starr
And George and Paul and John

1978

For the Eurovision Song Contest 1978, Sweden held a national final called Melodifestivalen 1978. The winner, and representant was Det blir alltid värre framåt natten, sung by Björn Skifs, and written and composed by Peter Himmelstrand. He finished 14th (out of 20).

lyrics
It always gets worse towards the night
The days and the evenings, then I live
I like my job, I have friends to talk to, it’s alright
I go out and have a beer and listen to a band
I guess I’ll dance, enjoying the warmth of some girl

But it always gets worse towards the night
Far away from all the lights and all the laughter
I lie awake, thinking about you
Remembering too much, feeling lonely

I always come up with something to do, I do as I please
I have nobody to take into consideration and no need to be punctual
I go to the movies, play squash when I feel like it
And I eat late and expensive and tasty
And have a pretty good time in the evening

But it always gets worse towards the night
Far away from all the lights and all the laughter
I lie awake, thinking about you
Remembering too much, feeling lonely

But it always gets worse towards the night
Far away from all the lights and all the laughter
I lie awake, thinking about you
Remembering too much, feeling lonely

But it always gets worse towards the night
Far away from all the lights and all the laughter
But it always gets worse towards the night

lyrics
Satellite
You’ve been standing at the horizon
You’ve been watching the sea wondering if earth is round
But all you saw was a boat disappearing
In the rolling mist

I´m not afraid of flying
Because above the clouds heaven’s door is ajar
Like earth and moon, we’re attracted to each other
Please hold me as tight as you can
I feel like a…

Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, high up in the sky
Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, now I understand
Oh… how small the world is
(High in the sky)

We’ve been wandering all over the world
Our freedom has been carried as a burden
And the sun has warmed us, but when it sets
I need the warmth from you
Oh… I feel like a…

Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, high up in the sky
Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, now I understand
Oh… how small the world is

Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, high up in the sky
Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, now I understand
Oh… how small the world is
(High in the sky)

Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, high up in the sky
Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, now I understand

Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, high up in the sky
Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, now I understand

Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, high up in the sky
Satellite, satellite, oh… like a satellite, now

At the final in The Hague, he came 10th (out of 19) with 47 points.

lyrics
Right now!
He’s tired of the city, nothing happens
Everything is as usual around here
The weekdays creep by, the weekend flies by
The same talk every day about breaking free

Right now I want to live, right now!
Right now I want to feel, right now!

Feel the air in my lungs, feel the blood pumping
Feel the light in my eyes, feel time passing

He wants to go away, perhaps down to Paris
And find adventure somehow
And not just sitting here at the local café
Just letting the thoughts flutter by

Right now I want to live, right now!
Right now I want to feel, right now!

Feel the air in my lungs, feel the blood pumping
Feel the light in my eyes, feel time passing

Feel the air in my lungs (right now!)
Feel the blood pumping (right now!)
Feel the light in my eyes (right now!)
Feel time passing (right now!)

Right now I want to live, right now!
Right now I want to feel, right now!

Feel the air in my lungs (right now!)
Feel the blood pumping (right now!)
Feel the light in my eyes (right now!)
Feel time passing (right now!)

Right now I want to live, right now!
Right now I want to feel, right now!

Feel the air in my lungs (right now!)
Feel the blood pumping (right now!)
Feel the light in my eyes (right now!)
Feel time passing (right now!)

1981

The song earned maximum points from France and 10 points from Germany, and finally ended up 10th with 50 points.

lyrics
Captured in a dream
In my house it happens that the night is long
In my house you can feel something is going on
And when the day turns to dusk, restlessness invites you to dance
You’re trying to escape but can’t go anywhere

And captured in a dream that doesn’t set you free
Captured in a dream, you’re held back by your fantasy

Yes, captured once more and if only you could escape
Still captured in a dream, you remain until the day is dawning
In a dream, in a dream

In a time when the world is supposed to be logical
In a time when fairy tales don’t fit in
You see reality fall apart with chills in your skin
And though you’re screaming out your fear, no sounds are heard

And captured in a dream that doesn’t set you free
Captured in a dream, you’re held back by your fantasy

Yes, captured once more and if only you could escape
Still captured in a dream, you remain until the day is dawning

Captured in a dream that doesn’t set you free
Captured in a dream, you’re held back by your fantasy
In a dream, in a dream
In a dream, in a dream

1982

The Swedish National Final was held on the 27th of February 1982 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Hosted by TV and radio presenter Fredrik Belfrage.
Cips formed by Elisabeth Andreasson and Kikki Danielsson had both previously come 2nd in the Swedish 1981 National Final in a group called ‘Sweet ‘n’ Chips’. Kikki Danielsson had previously came joint 1st in the Swedish 1978 National Final but lost out on a tie-break and previously came 4th in the group Chips in 1980.
Sweden performed 9th in the middle of the startfield. They finished 8th with 67 points.

lyrics
Day after day
Now something big is on its way, yes, soon something is going to happen
Nothing can change it and now it’s too late to turn back
I might as well say it, because you’ve already noticed it
Anyway, it feels completely OK
There’s something I want to tell you

Day after day, time after time I was on my way
Day after day, time after time, took step by step
But now there was something telling me
Wow wow wow… I want you
That’s how it should be, you and I, day after day

I place all my bets on the same card, I have nothing to lose
I’m telling you what I’m feeling now, and no words can be too big
Since the day I saw you here, I understand what I’ve been missing
Now listen, yes, listen to me now
There’s something I want to tell you

Day after day, time after time I was on my way
Day after day, time after time, took step by step
But now there was something telling me
Wow wow wow… I want you
That’s how it should be, you and I, day after day

I felt something inside of me
Wow wow wow… I want you
That’s how it should be, you and I, day after day
You and I, day after day, day after day

1983

Sweden used a national preselction called Melodifestivalen 1983 to select an entry for the 28th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Winner, being the first participant ever to get maximum points from all of the eleven juries, was the 17-year old and then unknown Carola Häggkvist, who quickly went on to be one of Sweden’s most popular singers. The song she competed with was called Främling. It was written by Lasse Holm and Monica Forsberg, who had also written the previous winning song together.
The final, held in Munich, attracted an estimate of 5,6 million viewers (about 70% of Sweden’s population back then). Carola was drawn #4 in a field of 20 and was considered a big favourite for the title.
Sweden received 12 points from Norway and Germany, and ended up with 126 points and a 3rd place. It was also Sweden’s 3rd best placement so far.

lyrics
Stranger
Stranger, what are you hiding from me in your dark eyes?
A faint nuance of light somewhere, but still

A stranger, that’s how I feel about you
I beg you, let me know
Who do you want to be? Can you explain that to me?

Just like Mona Lisa has her smile
You are hiding a secret too
Stars, I see them, I would like to take one down for you

There beyond the sky is an eternity
If you want to discover it here with me
Take the first step and show me the way tonight
A feeling and I trust it
Then our love will never be strange again

The night is there for you and me
Forget what’s around us
Let me come, let me be close to you

Just like Mona Lisa has her smile
You are hiding a secret too
Stars, I see them, I would like to take one down for you

There beyond the sky is an eternity
If you want to discover it here with me
Take the first step and show me the way tonight
A feeling and I trust it
Then our love will never be strange again
Then our love will never be strange again

1984

Sweden held a national preselction named Melodifestivalen 1984 to choose the entry for the Eurovision Song Contest the same year. The winner was the three brothers Herrey, consisting of Richard, Louis and Per. Their song was called Diggi-loo diggi-ley, and was written by Britt Lindeborg and Torgny Söderberg.
Sweden was the first country to perform at ESC that year. In the voting, they received not less than 5 “douze points” from the other 18 countries. Finally the brothers were victorious, with a total of 145 points-8 points ahead of Ireland. Sweden had won exactly 10 years earlier, then represented by ABBA.

lyrics
Diggil-loo diggi-ley
Lightning and thunder, magical wonders
Suddenly one day it happened, oh… what a piece of luck
(You are a lucky devil)

One day in the city (you walked there thinking)
On the forecourt (you saw something glistening)
It felt like I had wings
Oh… what a wonderful dream

Diggi-loo diggi-ley, everybody’s looking at me
When I’m walking in my golden shoes
I danced in the street
And the whole world was laughing

Diggi-loo diggi-ley, the sky was opening up
You hardly believe your eyes
Oh… and I almost begin to fly
In my golden shoes

I have visions for millions
Golden shoes for you and happiness is a fact
(Tell us more, we trust your word)

Imagine an obstacle, (you’ll fly over it)
Wings on your shoes (is all you need)
Oh… I can become what I want
In my magical world

Diggi-loo diggi-ley, everybody’s looking at me
When I’m walking in my golden shoes
I danced in the street
And the whole world was laughing

Diggy-loo diggy-ley, the sky was opening up
You hardly believe your eyes
Oh… and I almost begin to fly
In my golden shoes

It was a wishful dream, but I have to admit
When I woke up, I woke up with pleasure
Me, a singer and dancer
Oh… oh…

Diggi-loo diggi-ley, the sky was opening up
You hardly believe your eyes
Oh… I’d like to wish
For everyone golden shoes

Oh… I’d like to wish
For everyone golden shoes

1985

Following Herreys’ victory in the previous year, Sweden were the hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest 1985. The venue chosen for the show was the country’s second city, Gothenburg.
In order to save money for the staging of the Eurovision Song Contest itself, the competition to select Sweden’s national entry, Melodifestivalen, was a low-budget version in 1985.
Kikki had already represented Sweden three years earlier, as part of the pop group Chips. The other half, Elisabeth Andreassen, went to win for Norway, alongside the group Bobbysocks.
For the final, in which Sweden performed in 16th position, or fourth from last, the song’s title was translated into Good Vibrations. It did very well in the voting and came third with 103 points, 20 points behind the winner.

lyrics
Good Vibrations
Where have you been?
I know that you existed, before I got to see you
Of course there where others in my life
But no one could offer me more than pastime

But today I feel something I’ve never felt
I can see, that something has happened

You give me good vibrations
Every time you take my hand in yours
And every time you smile
I get good vibrations
That can lead to something much more
And I think love is on its way, taking big steps

We just met the other day
But I have gotten used to have you around
Even though you are more than just a friend
It is too soon to call it love

And we have much left, now we’re only at the beginning
But tonight, I know, that it’ll be you

Who give me good vibrations
Every time you take my hand in yours
And everytime you smile
I get good vibrations
That can lead to something much more
And I think love is on its way, taking big steps

That there might be problems I have learned
If someone says ‘yes’ too soon
But it is actually quite hard to say no
When you are the one that I want

You give me good vibrations
Every time you take my hand in yours
And every time you smile
I get good vibrations
That can lead to something much more
And I think love is on its way, taking big steps

1986

Sweden was present at the Eurovision Song Contest 1986, held in Bergen, Norway. The Swedish national final, Melodifestivalen 1986, was held on 22 March at the Cirkus in Stockholm. The winners were Lasse Holm and Monica Törnell with their song “E’ de’ det här du kallar kärlek?” (Is this what you call love?)

lyrics
Is this what you call love?
I cannot live normally anymore
Each day is different from the other
And I’ve been trying to ignore you totally
Even though I know you are unique

Emotions always burning are torment to me
And yet I still want you for me
Even though I suffer a longing for you
I ask and demand an answer

Is this what you call love? (This what you call love?)
I don’t want to have any more
Is this what you call feelings? (This what you call feelings?)
There’s no point to it

Everything you do is concentrated on me
You’ve become an obsession
It’s easy for me to be fascinated by you
You are loves irresistible force

Emotions always burning are torment to me
Yet I still want you for me
Even though I feel, I’m longing for you
I ask and demand an answer

Is this what you call love? (This what you call love?)
I don’t want to have any more
Is this what you call feelings? (This what you call feelings?)
There’s no point to it

And every time you smile, something happens
I plead and I pray, but no wonder happens

Is this what you call love? (This what you call love?)
I don’t want to have any more
Is this what you call feelings? (This what you call feelings?)
There’s no point to it

Is this what you call love? (This what you call love?)
I don’t want to have any more
Is this what you want?
There’s no point to it

1987

Sweden selected an entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1987 by holding a preselection show named Melodifestivalen 1987. Out of 1 502 submitted songs and 12 songs in the final, the entry Fyra Bugg och en Coca-Cola was chosen. It was performed by Lotta Engberg, and written/composed by Christer Lundh and Mikael Wendt.
As the songs title contained the trademark names Coca-Cola and the Swedish chewing gum Bugg, the European Broadcasting Union demanded that the lyrics would be changed before the Brussels final, so the song was renamed Boogaloo. It was drawn to perform at start position 12. After the voting, Sweden had received 50 points, which led to a 12th place (out of 22). This was the worst placement for Sweden in eight years.

lyrics
Four chewing gums and a coke
If you feel that your day is grey, the earth will still turn
It doesn’t care that much of, who left and who came
Soon the sun will shine again, over a bed of flowers
Warm winds from the past, will play you an refrain

Four chewing gums and a coke
Play cool music on your walkman
Four chewing gums and a coke
A smell of summer and romance
Do you want to live and do you want to dance?
Dare to laugh and dare to take a chance?
Four chewing gums and a coke
Play cool music on your walkman

La la la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la…
La la la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la…

You that has been longing so much
You will reach, all you ever longed for
Look forward and you will see, it will all soon happen
Down to the sea by train and car all of our gang is travelling
Warms summer winds will play our refrain

Four chewing gums and a coke
Play cool music on your walkman
Four chewing gums and a coke
A smell of summer and romance
Do you want to live and do you want to dance?
Dare to laugh and dare to take a chance?
Four chewing gums and a coke
Play cool music on your walkman

A song searching its way through
Gives us the warmth and a new harmony
It feels ok, don’t say no
Dare to dance and sing like us

Four chewing gums and a coke
Play cool music on your walkman
Four chewing gums and a coke
A smell of summer and romance
Do you want to live and do you want to dance?
Dare to laugh and dare to take a chance?
Four chewing gums and a coke
Play cool music on your walkman

La la la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la…
La la la la la la la la la… la la la la la la la la…

1988

In order to choose an entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1988, Sweden held a national selection, namely Melodifestivalen 1988. The runaway winner was the ballad “Stad i ljus” sung by Tommy Körberg, who also had represented Sweden at the 1969 contest. This time his song was written by Py Bäckman. It was the first time in the eighties that the Swedish entry was a ballad.
Sweden performed second at the contest and received a total of 52 points and finished 12th.

lyrics
City of light
My journey was towards the sun
Far away from all the closed rooms
Where nothing ever ends
And where there are no borders anymore

I wanted to see the miracle
And hear the words that give birth to life
I want to be carried by a force
Which will grow stronger when I know what I want

The city of light, in a country without a name
Give me life, where everything is born again

And when everything has changed
When time does no longer exist
I can see the two of us together
And then the end of the journey is all we remember

The city of light, in a country without a name
Give me life, where everything is born again

The city of light, in a country without a name
Give… give me life, where everything is born again

1989

lyrics
One day
One day, when the winds carry
One day, you and I are standing there
One day, when the dream reaches out
When our roads are crossing, we will understand each other

One day, we all understand
One day, when stillness rules
One day, I find your hand
When our roads are crossing, we will understand each other

We carry a yearning, and wander around
Wander without seeing
Whatever happens, I will come to you
Staying even though it’s late
Staying even though it’s late

Oh… one day, when the winds carry
One day, you and I are standing there
One day, when the dream reaches out
When our roads are crossing, we will understand each other

Oh… everything we’re looking for, is right here
Everything we hope for will happen
Oh… whatever happens, I will come to you
Staying even though it’s late
Oh… staying even though it’s late

Oh… one day, when the winds carry

Oh… one day
When our roads are crossing, we will understand each other

One day, we all understand
Oh… one day, when stillness rules
One day, I find your hand
When our roads are crossing, we will understand each other

(One day, when the winds carry)
One day, you and I are standing there
One day, when the dream reaches out
When our roads are crossing, we will understand each other

lyrics
Like a wind
Out from a dream and into my heart
Came a feeling and filled my soul
And I’m a man who travels in thoughts
Filled with visions from a dream
And I feel…

Like a wind is sweeping inside of me
Making me warm, come, be closer to me
Like a wind, show me the way
Touch me like a wind

Together, but far apart
We know that we want and we can
A thought says more than thousand words
Still I don’t know what to believe
But I feel…

Like a wind is sweeping inside of me
Making me warm, come, be closer to me
Like a wind, show me the way
Touch me like a wind

I’m a man filled with visions
Stay and touch me

Like a wind is sweeping inside of me
Making me warm, come, be closer to me
Like a wind, show me the way
Come to me, stay
Don’t turn away
Touch me like a wind
Touch me like a wind

lyrics
Captured by a stormwind
I have never stopped believing
That after every night waits the dawn
Even though I can’t understand
There’s time for laughter when I start all over again

I can smell the scent from a quiet ocean
Suddenly I’m in the middle of a vivid hurricane

I am captured by a stormwind, stuck on you
Nothing can stop me, when it’s blowing in my heart
Captured by a stormwind night and day
Only you and I are here, and the light that heaven left behind

It is time to move on
For the moments that have passed, never come back
Travelling on an open sea
Where everything is like new in the future you give

I’m leaving my safe harbour without missing it
Free, but still tied to open arms

I am captured by a stormwind, stuck on you
Nothing can stop me, when it’s blowing in my heart
Captured by a stormwind night and day
Only you and I are here, and the light that heaven left behind

We are walking together, united by the bonds of love
My longing is awakened, when you smile and give me your hand

I am captured by a stormwind
Captured by a stormwind, (stuck on you)
Nothing can stop me, when it’s blowing in my heart
Captured by a stormwind night and day
Only you and I are here, and the light that heaven left behind

(Captured by a stormwind)
I am captured by a stormwind

lyrics
Tomorrow is another day
There is a girl, that I go to see sometimes
She likes me, because I’ll always do my best
She has a silence and there’s so much I want to know
So I’ll stay the whole night, even though we’re like water and fire

(Come) as long as the heart is beating
(Come) as long as there is excitement
Tomorrow is another day
(Come) as long as the sun shines
(Come) as long as lust is giving and taking
And when everything is gone, tomorrow is another day

She paints pictures, that I’ve never seen
She sings her songs, when nobody is sitting next to her
In her eyes there is a longing for more
So I’ll stay the whole night, even though we’re like water and fire

(Come) as long as the heart is beating
(Come) as long as there is excitement
Tomorrow is another day
(Come) as long as the sun shines
(Come) as long as lust is giving and taking
And when everything is gone, tomorrow is another day

Time is like a hourglass in your hand
Where seconds and minutes turn into years
I want everything I get

(Come) as long as the heart is beating
(Come) as long as there is excitement
Tomorrow is another day
(Come) as long as the sun shines
(Come) as long as lust is giving and taking
And when everything is gone, tomorrow is another day

Tomorrow is another day

lyrics
Eloise
I’m pulling myself together before I go out
I thought that I was smart when I broke up with you
I’m missing you and here I am in front of your door
If I ring the bell, will you open up your door
Or do you want me to leave?
So I’m asking you, please come out to me

Eloise, are we more than just friends?
If so, show me what your feel and later on our emotions can rule
Eloise, even the winds can change, for me you are the only one
Our love is worth a higher price, Eloise

It’s not easy when you can’t see your own mistakes
I’m like a small ball, in a pinball game
I’m missing you and here I am in front of your door
If I ring the bell, will you open up your door
Or do you want me to leave?
So I’m asking you, please come out to me

Whoa… Eloise, are we more than just friends?
If so, show me what your feel and later on our emotions can rule
Eloise, even the winds can change, for me you are the only one
Our love is worth a higher price, Eloise

I’m waiting and hoping and longing, please tell me…

Eloise, even the winds can change, for me you are the only one
Our love is worth a higher price, Eloise

lyrics
The stars
Good morning, my sun
Tell me, did you wake up to give me some of your glory
Or will you disappear somewhere in a rainshower
Where your tears become a mirror of the solitude I feel right now?
But if you give me some of the light you have
The day will stay until the moon enlightens

The stars, enlightening my night
Giving power to our love
Leading us when the winds are changing
The stars, ruling with the hand of destiny
When hearts are set on fire
Which lead us to the land of dreams
Oh… come and take my hand, follow me tonight

Good morning, my sun
Imagine that I could see all the things that only you can see
Then I knew all the things that you know
About what will happen with the two of us tomorrow
If only you stay
So if you gave me some of your light
The day will remain until the moon turns on

The stars, enlightening my night
Giving power to our love
Leading us when the winds are changing
The stars, ruling with the hand of destiny
When hearts are set on fire
And I can’t send a thought

The stars, enlightening my night
Giving power to our love
Leading us…
The stars, ruling with the hand of destiny
When hearts are set on fire
To the land of dreams, oh… take my hand
Oh… take my hand, follow me tonight

1995

lyrics
Look at me
When you have a long way to go and you’re tired
But you still have to go on
And when the shadows start growing and come to life
And when the night scares you so
I am beside you and I watch every step you take
And with you I’ll stay

So look at me, oho… a harbour in the storm
Like a wave, that is born to carry you
Yes, look at me, oho… in light and darkness
I’ll be there and I’ll never leave you

One day, when you stand at a crossroads in your life
Like a lost little child
I am beside you and I watch every step you take
And with you I’ll stay

So look at me, oho… a harbour in the storm
Like a wave, that is born to carry you
Yes, look at me, oho… in light and darkness
I’ll be there and I’ll never leave you

I’ll go with you wherever you go, and I’ll never leave you

So look at me, oho… a harbour in the storm
Like a wave, that is born to carry you
Yes, look at me when the light turns into darkness in your life
I’ll be there, and I’ll never leave you
Love you so

1996

lyrics
The wild one
The winter is lowering its white veil and is tucking into the houses
The fire in the tavern warms us and the food and the jugs
There he dances with the wild one
They are dancing like whirls in a waterfall
Filled with pride and willpower
Dancing like whirls in a waterfall

But rumours are spreading among the cottages
While the snow is falling
The stars are shining on the ice like clear crystals
There he runs away with the wild one
They are rushing like whirls in a waterfall
Filled with pride and willpower
Rushing like whirls in a waterfall

(Wild… wild… wild…)

The carriage is disappearing in the night
And the snow becomes snowdrifts along the road
The sound of the horses hoofs are still echoing in the mountains
Playingly carefree like a waterfall

The night is lowering its veil and erasing the traces
Wherever they are they’re strong like the stream in springtime
There he dances with the wild one
They are dancing like whirls in a waterfall
Filled with pride and willpower
Dancing like whirls in a waterfall

Filled with pride and willpower
Dancing like whirls in a waterfall

Oo…

1997

Sweden chose their entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 by holding their usual selection Melodifestivalen. For Melodifestivalen 1997, 1229 songs were submitted to Sveriges Television, 12 of which performed in the final.

lyrics
If only she loves me
I see a girl dance through the night
Smiling so all the hearts stop
Even though I walked through fire and water
She touches me like nobody else
And if she falls for me everything will change
For she’ll see that the man she waited for
It is me, it could be she and I

If only she loves me
I’ll have the angel the whole of heaven looks for
And the only woman I want to have again
If only she loves me
I become that man she sees in her dreams
All the others have lost
She can never love without me

I don’t dare to meet her looks
Show that my heart is on fire
How will I ever catch this girl
Ask before she disappears
Even though other men could die for the her sake
I understand what nobody sees
What she wants, it is only me

If only she loves me
I’ll have the angel the whole of heaven looks for
And the only woman I want to have again
If only she loves me
I become that man she sees in her dreams
All the others have lost
She can never love without me

I’ve nothing left to live for
Nothing is worth anything unless we find each other
We become one

If only she loves me
I’ll have the angel the whole of heaven looks for
And the only woman I want to have again
If only she loves me
I become that man she sees in her dreams
All the others have lost
She can never love without…

If only she loves me
I become that man she sees in her dreams
She can never love without me

1998

lyrics
Love is
Here, in the still dawn, I can feel everything breathe again
The heavy clouds drifted away with the winds
No tears from the sky turns into rain
(We hear the words from a song) which is still in our hearts
(We in calm after the storm)

An angel passed, to heaven so free
But she left her smile on our Earth
Like a sun which makes us warm, like a heaven’s starlight
So that we can observe life’s process with a belief
Love is

Here, and where the night is approaching
We’re safe in each other’s breaths
(A wind, which nestles against)
Carries a smell of wild rose

An angel passed to heaven so free
But she left her smile on our Earth
Like a sun which makes us warm, like a heaven’s starlight
So that we can observe life’s process with a belief
Love is
Oh… oh… oh…

An angel passed to heaven so free
But she left her smile on our Earth
Like a sun which makes us warm, like a heaven’s starlight
So that we can observe life’s process with a belief
Love is all

1999

Sweden was present at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999, held in Jerusalem, Israel. For the contest, Sweden used their usual pre-selection Melodifestivalen. The contest was hosted by Anders Lundin and Vendela Thommessen. The winner was Charlotte Nilsson with the song “Tusen och en natt”, written by Gert Lengstrand and Lars Diedricsson. It got the highest number of points from both the 11 juries and the televoters.
The song was translated into English for Eurovision as “Take Me To Your Heaven”. Nilsson sung in the 15th spot of 23. In the voting Sweden took their fourth victory, taking 163 points.

lyrics
Take me to your heaven
Shadows dancin’ slowly on my wall
Moonlight paintin’ silver to the sound of heartbeats
Magical emotions take control
Knowin’ we will meet before the night is over

Then I’m gonna make you mine, love you ’til the end of time

Take me to your heaven, hold on to a dream
Take me to your heaven when my nights are cold and lonely
Flyin’ high together on a journey to the stars
Won’t you take me to your heaven, to your heart

I can feel your body next to mine
Reachin’ for a kiss that keeps me warm and tender
Seven steps to heaven show the way
When I’m there, I give myself in sweet surrender

Then I’m gonna make you mine, love you ’til the end of time

Take me to your heaven, hold on to a dream
Take me to your heaven when my nights are cold and lonely
Flyin’ high together on a journey to the stars
Won’t you take me to your heaven, to your heart

As dawn is breakin’ there is so much more to say
So will you be my one and only when nights are lonely?
Hold on tight forever

Take me to your heaven, hold on to a dream
Take me to your heaven when my nights are cold and lonely
Flyin’ high together on a journey to the stars
Won’t you take me to your heaven, to your heart

Oh… so won’t you take me to your heaven, to your heart

2000

Sweden was the host of the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 thanks to Charlotte Nilsson’s victory the previous year. Sveriges Television chose to hold the contest in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. The entry of the home country was chosen in Melodifestivalen 2000. Just like last year, 11 juries combined with televotes selected the winner, which surprisingly was folk-inspired rock song “När vindarna viskar mitt namn”. It was sung by Roger Pontare, who had also represented Sweden at the 1994 contest. The song was written and composed by Thomas Holmstrand, Linda Jansson and Peter Dahl.
The song had been translated into English and was now called “When Spirits Are Calling My Name”, and the stage number was quite spectacular with Native American and Sami themes. Sweden finished 7th with 88 points (including 12 points from Turkey), which was enough to qualify them for the next contest as well.

lyrics
When spirits are calling my name
I am caught in a trap, there is no turning back, I’m finally facin’ the fear
The sky is on fire, and up with the flames, my hope and my dreams disappear
So bring me the power, I’ll be the king of the land and the seas
Show me the way to go, let me fight with my body and soul

Let me be the native son with freedom in my heart
Life will never be the same when spirits are calling my name
My name…

Let me out of the darkness, the shadow of pain, and I’m keepin’ my promise to you
My people, my spirit, the home of my heart – you’re with me wherever I go
So bring me the power, I’ll be the king of the land and the seas
I’ve got a way to go, let me fight with my body and soul

Let me be the native son with freedom in my heart
Life will never be the same when spirits are calling my name
My name…

So bring me the power, I’ll be the king of the land and the seas
I’ve got a way to go, let me fight with my body and soul

Let me be the native son with freedom in my home
Life will never be the same when spirits are calling my name

Spirits are calling my name

2001

In order to select an entry for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, Sweden organised a national preselection called Melodifestivalen 2001. SVT received 1,567 songs, of which 10 were chosen to compete in the show. Winner was last year’s runner-up, the group Friends with the typical schlager song Lyssna till ditt hjärta. It was written by Thomas G:son and Henrik Sethson, and was accused of plagiarism from the 1996 Belgian entry “Liefde is een kaartspel”.
It was performed in the 7th spot, in a total of 23. Despite not receiving any 12s, Sweden reached the 5th position with 100 points.

lyrics
Listen to your heartbeat
I wanna know what you feel inside
Is something wrong? Why did you leave last night?
Is it all just a game? – Oh… tell me why we can’t be lovers

I do believe in the two us
That you and me – we are the only ones
And we were meant to be true, so tell me why we can’t be lovers

How could I be such a fool
I thought I already knew it all, but I know
I was totally wrong

Listen to your heartbeat – it will take you higher
Follow your emotions – I know you’ll get stronger
Listen to your heartbeat – the feeling will guide you
Hold on to devotion – I know it’s inside you

How will I know if you’re fooling me?
Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems to be
Like it’s all just a game, and I just want us to be lovers

We had it all in our hands
Just like those all happy ends
I still don’t know why, but we lost it somehow

Listen to your heartbeat – it will take you higher
Follow your emotions – I know you’ll get stronger
Listen to your heartbeat – the feeling will guide you
Hold on to devotion – I know it’s inside you

One more chance to make a try
Nothing left to do for you and I

Listen to your heartbeat – it will take you higher
Follow your emotions – I know you’ll get stronger
Listen to your heartbeat – the feeling will guide you
Hold on to devotion – I know it’s inside you

Listen to your heartbeat

2002

Sweden’s pre-selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2002, Melodifestivalen 2002 was held on March 1, 2002 at Globen in Stockholm. Hosted by Kristin Kaspersen and Claes Åkesson, the final was won by Afro-Dite after the disco group won both the televoting and jury voting. lyrics
Never let it go
(Don’t ever stop)
All right, girls
(Are you shakin’?)
Here we go

Surrounded by sharp lookin’ eyes, dancin’ in a fever
Forgettin’ all the words of advise, movin’ in and closer
What a life we have, what a life we live
And it’s smiling right at us
What a life we share, gonna get it there

So never let it go, never stop ’til you know
We’ll be reachin’ for the top tonight
Surrender to the beat, up and down in the heat
We’ll be shakin’, shakin’

So never let it go, never stop ’til you know
We’ll be reachin’ for the top tonight
And when the night is over, I’ll take you in my arms now

Blinded by the scent of your love, sailing on this feeling
And my mind is high up above, I don’t know if I’m dreaming
What a life we have, what a life we live
And it’s smiling right at us
What a life we share, gonna get it there

So never let it go, never stop ’til you know
We’ll be reachin’ for the top tonight
Surrender to the beat, up and down in the heat
We’ll be shakin’, shakin’
(We’ll be shakin’)

So never let it go, never stop ’til you know
We’ll be reachin’ for the top tonight
(We will reach the top)
Surrender to the beat, up and down in the heat
We’ll be shakin’, shakin’

What a life we have, what a life we live
What a life we share, gonna get it there

So never let it go, never stop ’til you know
We’ll be reachin’ for the top tonight
Surrender to the beat, up and down in the heat
We’ll be shakin’, shakin’
(Shakin’, shakin’, shakin’, shakin’)

So never let it go, never stop ’til you know
We’ll be reachin’ for the top tonight
And when the night is over, I’ll take you in my arms now

So never let it go, never stop ’til you know
We’ll be reachin’ for the top tonight
Surrender to the beat, up and down in the heat
We’ll be shakin’, shakin’
(Shakin’, shakin’, shakin’, shakin’)

So never let it go, never stop

2003

Sweden chose their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in the national selection Melodifestivalen 2003.The winners were Fame consisting of Jessica Andersson and Magnus Bäcklund. Their song, written by Calle Kindbom and Carl Lösnitz, was called Give me your love, and was a typical schlager–disco song.

lyrics
Give me your love
Hoohooh, hoohooh, hoohooh
Haha, haha
Give me your love

Oh, I can be the one you love forever
I can be the dream of your heart
Every single moment
Oh, I’m thinking of you
I wish you felt the same way that I do

Give me your love
Give me all of your love
I’m the one for you
And try to believe me
I just wanna be
There by your side

Give me your love
Give me all of your love
When the morning comes
I’m waiting tonight and it feels so right
Give me your love

You can turn the winter into summer
Oh, yeah
You can be my wonder every day
Mmm, hoh…
Every time I see you, I just wanna hold you
I wish you felt the same way that I do

Give me your love
Give me all of your love
I’m the one for you
And try to believe me
I just wanna be
There by your side

Give me your love
Give me all of your love
When the morning comes
I’ve waited tonight and it feels so right
Give me your love

Sometimes I think that you’re an angel
And it’s plain to see that you can rescue me
Rescue me

Give me your love
Give me all of your love
I’m the one for you
And try to believe me
I just wanna be
There by your side

Give me your love
Give me all of your love
When the morning comes
I’ve waited tonight and it feels so right
Give me your love

2004

Sweden was represented by Lena Philipsson and the song “It Hurts”, which won the song selection Melodifestivalen 2004 under the title “Det gör ont”.Melodifestivalen 2004 was held at the Globe Arena in Stockholm on March 20, hosted by Charlotte Perrelli (winner of the 1999 ESC), Ola Lindholm and Peter Settman. The winner was chosen by regional juries (50%) and televoting (50%) of which Lena Philipsson was the favourite with both. The song is written and composed by Thomas ‘Orup’ Eriksson.
At Eurovision, Lena sang “Det gör ont” in its English version, “It Hurts”. Lena appeared on stage with her backing singers lined up on the side. She moved on stage by herself very effectively and gave one of the best performances of the night. Lena’s performance and attire was very similar to her Melodifestivalen performance. Sweden closed the contest performing last in the 24th spot and eventually making their way up to a joint 5th place with 170 points. They received 4 sets of 12-points.

lyrics
It hurts
Nobody but me, could know the way I feel

I’m standing on the rooftop
And I’m crying out your name
I’m looking for an answer
And for somebody to blame
‘Cause even though it’s over
You linger on my mind, oh

Hurts, oh it hurts, really hurts
In the middle of the night
In the light of the day
You know that it hurts
Oh it hurts, really hurts
And I wish I could be stronger
No longer afraid
Nobody but me, could know the way I feel
Oh it hurts, oh it hurts

I’m trying to forget love
The pain I feel inside
I’m clinging to my pillow
And the tears I cannot hide
I wish it could be over
So I can start anew, oh

Hurts, oh it hurts, really hurts
In the middle of the night
In the light of the day
You know that it hurts
Oh it hurts, really hurts
And I wish I could be stronger
No longer afraid
Nobody but me, could know the way I feel
Oh it hurts, oh

Not easy to remember
And even harder to forget
Whenever I surrender (whenever I surrender)
Oh, you’re always on my mind…

(Hurts, oh it hurts, really hurts)
In the middle of the night
In the light of the day
You know that it hurts
Oh it hurts, really hurts
And I wish I could be stronger
No longer afraid
Nobody but me, could know the way I feel
Oh it hurts, ooh it hurts
I wish I could be stronger
Oh, but it hurts

2005

Sweden was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by Martin Stenmarck with the song “Las Vegas”. The entrant was chosen through the Swedish national final Melodifestivalen.Martin was automatically qualified for the Kiev final (thanks to Lena Philipssons 5th place last year), where he performed 14th. But the result was disastrous: a joint 18 place (out of 24) with only 30 points; this was the worst placement for Sweden in 13 years.

lyrics
Las Vegas
I’ve got a room here at the Mandalay Bay
I’ll take a shower then I’m on my way
I’ll bring a friend if someone picks a fight
Here in Las Vegas tonight

It’s close to midnight when I hit The Strip
The maiden voyage on my Vegas trip
The night is young and everything’s alright
Here in Las Vegas tonight

Dancing girls and cabarets
You can spend your money in a million ways
Let’s have a ball
The winner takes it all

In Las Vegas, in the neon lights
You’ll be a star if you do it right
In Las Vegas, oh oh oh…
You better hold on tight

In Las Vegas, can’t believe your eyes
Your luck can turn in a throw of a dice
In Las Vegas, oh oh oh…
You better hold on tight
Here in Las Vegas tonight

I’m leaving with a million dollar smile
The hotel manager can check my file
Fred the limo driver’s asking polite:
“Leaving Las Vegas tonight?”

Dancing girls and cabarets
You can spend your money in a million ways
Let’s have a ball
The winner takes it all

In Las Vegas, in the neon lights
You’ll be a star if you do it right
In Las Vegas, oh oh oh…
You better hold on tight

Hey, yeah, yeah…
(In Las Vegas)
In Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, in the neon lights
You’ll be a star if you do it right
(In Las Vegas) Oh oh oh…
You better hold on tight

In Las Vegas, can’t believe your eyes
Your luck can turn in a throw of a dice
In Las Vegas, oh oh oh…
You better hold on tight
Here in Las Vegas tonight

2006

Sweden’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was selected in Melodifestivalen 2006, the Swedish final. It was held at the Globe Arena in Stockholm on 18 March, hosted by Lena Philipsson who represented Sweden in ESC 2004. With the votes from the jury and televote, Carola was chosen to go to Athens for Sweden singing the song Evighet (Eternity). The song is written by Thomas G:son & Carola Häggkvist and composed by Thomas G:son, Bobby Ljunggren & Henrik Wikström. She sang Evighet in English in Athens, under the name Invincible, and came fifth in the final, after coming fourth in the semi-final.
Carola started her career in 1977 after winning a talent show. She went on to participate in Melodifestivalen for the first time in 1983 with the song Främling which went on to reach 3rd place at the Eurovision Song Contest in Munich. She released many albums, had a number of hits, and even collaborated with the Bee Gees. In 1990 she became the runner-up in Melodifestivalen, but in 1991 she won both Melodifestivalen and the Eurovision Song Contest in Rome with the song Fångad av en stormvind. Carola is praised in Sweden and has become a huge celebrity.
At the final, Carola performed in 22nd spot and at the end of voting received 170 points and finished in 5th place. It is notable that this is Carola’s third top 5 finish in the Eurovision Song Contest (3rd in 1983, 1st in 1991 and 5th in 2006). Also, Carola achieved her 5th place without receiving any 12 points, unlike most other of the top 10 countries that year.

lyrics
Invincible
Never gonna run away, I’m not gonna hide
I know just what I feel inside
Oh… nothing’s gonna make a change, forever with you
You’re always by my side
You’re always on my mind

Invincible – one love supreme
Unbreakable – one land of dreams
Two hearts unite – insatiable
This love tonight – invincible

Love is like a miracle invading your heart
And when it strikes, it hits you hard
Whoa… and when it’s comin’ over you, you won’t let it go
I’m always on your side (Always on your side)
You’re always on my mind

Invincible – one love supreme
Unbreakable – one land of dreams
Two hearts unite – insatiable
This love tonight – invincible

I’m always on your side (Always on your side)
You’re always on my mind

(Invincible) Oh… invincible
Unbreakable – one land of dreams, a land of dreams
Two hearts unite – insatiable
This love tonight – invincible

This love tonight – invincible

2007

Sweden chose their entrants, The Ark, with the song ‘The Worrying Kind’ for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Sweden used a national final format for Melodifestivalen 2007, which consisted of four semi-finals on February 3, February 10, February 17, February 24; a second chance round on March 3, and the final which took place on March 10. Some familiar faces returned to Melodifestivalen this year; among them Eurovision 1989 representative Tommy Nilsson, 1966 representative Svante Thuresson, 2003 representative Jessica Andersson, and 1996 representative Nanne Grönvall. Andreas Lundstedt also went to Eurovision in 2006 for Switzerland.
Sweden were considered bookmakers’ favorites before the contest, but finished in a disappointing 18th place out of 24. They received 51 points, of which 42 came from their Scandinavian neighbours.

lyrics
The worrying kind
Mmm…
Moves – I like to make ’em
Grooves – I like to shake ’em
Shake ’em from my troublesome mind
‘Cause sometimes you’ll find
That I’m out of my mind
You see, baby, I’m the worrying kind

Words – I like to break ’em
Words – I like to shake ’em
Shake ’em from my troublesome mind
And you turn up your nose
It’s a joke, you suppose
But baby, I’m the worrying kind

So if you see me somewhere
With that glassy old stare
And the panic and fear in my eyes
Don’t call for first aid or the fire brigade
Or the local police, ’cause they won’t care

I’m just a silly old boy with my head in the can
Just a mortal with potential of a superman
But what sense does it make
When I feel like a fake
When I’m saying to you all: be good for goodness sake?
Yoohoo… aha ooh…

Words – I like to break ’em
Words – I like to shake ’em
Shake ’em from my troublesome mind
And why? – Heaven knows, it’s a joke, I suppose
But baby, I’m the worrying kind
Yeah

So if you see me somewhere
With that glassy old stare
And the panic and fear in my eyes
Don’t call for first aid or the fire brigade
Or the local police, ’cause they won’t care

I’m just a silly old boy with my head in the can
Just a mortal with potential of a superman
But what sense does it make
When I feel like a fake
When I’m saying to you all: be good for goodness sake?
Yoohoo… aha ooh…

Oh, words – I like to break ’em
Words – I like to shake ’em
Shake ’em from my troublesome mind
And why? – Heaven knows, it’s a joke, I suppose
But baby, I’m the worrying kind

And you turn up your nose
And you say it’s a pose
But baby, I’m the worrying kind
Yeah, sometimes I’m blind
I’m just out of my mind
Baby, I’m the worrying kind

Oh yeah
Oh… oh… oh yeah

The actual placement was 12th, 7 points after Macedonia and 2 points after Bulgaria. She was drawn into the 15th spot in the final. Although being one of the heavy favorites before the final, Sweden did not finish higher than 18th, receiving only 47 points.
lyrics
Hero
Everything has a beginning
Everything comes to an end
Take it or leave it, you’d better believe it
Be my love or be my friend

Try to deny what you’re feeling
And you’ll know that your heart will say no
Love will last longer, growing stronger and stronger
If you stay and don’t let go

Oh… out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive
Oh… taking the fight is the life of a hero
Staying alive

This is a story of love and compassion
Only heroes can tell
Oh… out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive

Heaven and earth keep colliding
But with love on a world of its own
Oh… there you can’t fake it, just make it or break it
Only you can find the one

Oh… out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive
Oh… taking the fight is the life of a hero
Staying alive

This is a story of love and compassion
Only heroes can tell
Oh… out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive (Will survive)
Oh… survive (Will survive)

Heroes can live on their own
But heroes never die alone

Oh… out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive
Oh… taking the fight is the life of a hero
Staying alive
(This is a story of love and compassion)
Heroes can tell
Oh, out of the light, like a star, like a hero
Love will survive

lyrics
La voix
Can you keep a secret?
Can you keep a secret?
I’m in love with you
Can you make a promise?
Can you make a promise?
Stay forever true, oh…
Then I’m forever yours

I love you, my love, when I hear the voice
I love you, my life is never without you
I live my life for you, it’s the universe for me
I love you, my love, when I hear the voice

Tell me what you’re feelin’
Tell me what you’re feelin’
I just wanna know
Tell me what you’re dreamin’
Tell me what you’re dreamin’
Let your feelings show, oh…
Stay and don’t let go

I love you, my love, when I hear the voice
I love you, my life is never without you
I live my life for you, it’s the universe for me
I love you, my love, when I hear the voice

(I love you, my love, when I hear the voice)
(I love you, my life is never without you)
I live my life for you, it’s the universe for me
I love you, my love, when I hear the voice
I hear the voice, the voice
(I love you, my love, when I hear the voice)

lyrics
This is my life
I go down the beaten track
‘Long the river with an empty bag
At the end she said to me:
“Why are you here with the autumn leaves?”

‘Cause this is my life, my friend
And this is my time to stand
Now this is my life, my friend
And I can’t be no one else

I’m done, tipping on my toes
Striking iron and attack my soul
Misty moon, you’re gonna see
I’ve got your blues to get on my feet

‘Cause this is my life, my friend
And this is my time to stand
‘Cause this is my life, my friend
And I can’t be no one else

I don’t wanna run, I don’t wanna fight
I don’t wanna hide, I just wanna stay free
To be me
I don’t wanna win, I don’t wanna lose
I don’t wanna play, I just wanna remember
Oh, my name

‘Cause this is my life, my friend
And this is my time to stand
Oh, ooh…

(‘Cause this is my life, my friend
(And this is my time to stand)
Now this is my life, my friend
And I can’t be no one else
‘Cause this is my life, my friend
And I can’t be no one else

‘Cause this is my life, my friend

lyrics
Popular
Stop, don’t say that it’s impossible
‘Cause I know it’s possible
Though I know you never look my way
I can say you will one day
I can say you will one day

I will be popular, I will be popular
I’m gonna get there, popular
My body wants you, girl
My body wants you, girl
I’ll get you when I’m popular

I put my hands up in the light
You see me dancing for my life
I will be popular, I will be popular
I’m gonna get there, popular

Spread the news, I’m gonna take the fight
For the spotlight, day and night
I can take this to the number one
Be someone before you’re gone
Be someone before you’re gone

I will be popular, I will be popular
I’m gonna get there, popular
My body wants you girl
My body wants you girl
I’ll get you when I’m popular

I put my hands up in the light
You see me dancing for my life
I will be popular, I will be popular
I’m gonna get there, popular

Oh pop… oh pop… oh popular
Oh pop… oh pop… oh popular
Oh pop… oh pop… oh popular
Oh, oh…

I will be popular, I will be popular
I’m gonna get there
My body wants you, girl
My body wants you, girl
I’ll get you when I’m popular

I put my hands up in the light
You see me dancing for my life
I will be popular, I will be popular
Popular

Oh pop… oh pop… oh popular
Oh, oh…

lyrics
Euphoria
Why, why can’t this moment last forevermore?
Tonight, tonight eternity’s an open door
No, don’t ever stop doing the things you do
Don’t go, in every breath I take I’m breathing you

Euphoria
Forever, till the end of time
From now on, only you and I
We’re going u-u-u-u-u-up…
Euphoria
An everlasting piece of art
A beating love within my heart
We’re going u-u-u-u-u-up…

We are here, we’re all alone in our own universe
We are free, where everything’s allowed and love comes first
Forever and ever together, we sail into infinity
We’re higher and higher and higher, we’re reaching for divinity

Euphoria
Forever, till the end of time
From now on, only you and I
We’re going u-u-u-u-u-up…
Euphoria
An everlasting piece of art
A beating love within my heart
We’re going u-u-u-u-u-up…

Forever we sail into infinity
We’re higher, we’re reaching for divinity
Euphoria… euphoria…
We’re going u-u-u-u-u-up…

Euphoria
An everlasting piece of art
A beating love within my heart
We’re going up…
Euphoria… euphoria…
We’re going u-u-u-u-u-up…
